Antarctica Adventure Tour-Antarctica -Expedition cost varies from $10,250 to $18,930

The Antarctica Adventure Tour is worth an experience. This tour entails the sight of not only floating ice-bergs but also ice covered beaches filled with plenty of penguins, kayaks, walruses and other Antarctic animals. This tour arranged by the National Geographic expedition usually takes place between November 11th and 25th.

To go on an Antarctica Adventure Tour one needs to take a flight from Miami in the evening, which shall reach Santiago overnight. Santiago is a beautiful place with palm trees and bright sunny mornings. After taking a little rest in the hotel one can go around for a feel of this beautiful city.

The next day one has to catch a flight to Ushuaia, which is the extreme south tip of the world. Lunch will be served aboard a cruise of the Beagle Channel. Finally the Antarctica Adventure Tour begins as one sails off on either the National Geographic Explorer or National Geographic Endeavor.

The whole journey now takes off from the sea as one crosses the Drake Passage. Seabirds, whales and plenty of other marine animals are visible from the ship itself. The travelers will find it extremely adventurous to sail around watching the beautiful marine life.

On the fifth day the group halts on an island, which resides along the Antarctica Peninsula. The most striking feature of Antarctica Adventure Tour is that one gets to experience daylight for a whole 24 hours. Thus one needs to make the most of this once in a lifetime experience and thus should explore the whole of Antarctica Peninsula and the islands surrounding it. For six days one gets to explore the vast land, see wildlife from Zodiac cruises, spot many exotic and unidentifiable birds, penguins, kayaks.

If the weather is favorable enough then the followings expedition plans are then made and carried out. In fact one should make the best use of the fifteen days starting from November 11- 25. On the eleventh day one gets to see a giant collapsed volcano measuring about four miles in diameter. It is said to be an active volcano. The expedition then takes turn into the Paradise Bay with ice capped peaks. The most memorable experience is of course the journey on a cruise between icebergs and snowy mountains, which is known as the Lemaire Channel. The cruise then reaches the Petermann Island, which is full of gentoo penguins. The travelers also get to meet and talk to the scientists residing there.

After this the Antactica Adventure Tour heads for the Neko Harbour and reaches the Port Lockroy named after the great French Explorer Jean-BaptisteCharcot. Port Lockroy is noa a museum and also the only existing post office.

On the twelfth day it is time to go back following the Drake Passage once more. As one begins to leave the Antarctic coast the ship goes around the southernmost end of South America and one gets to see the merging of Atlantic and Pacific oceans. At last one reaches Ushuaia and then flies off to Santiago to catch up with the connecting flight to Miami. Thus the Antarctica adventure Tour ends on the 25th of November.
